SPORTS PHOTOGRAPHY

As a photographer for the Daily Gamecock (the independently-run student newspaper) this semester, I was given the opportunity to shoot basketball and baseball here at the University of South Carolina. This was an incredibly rewarding experience, as my photos were used for game day stories as well as additional opinion pieces later on. All of my experience came to fruition when I was able to shoot the first round of the Women’s March Madness tournament, covering our women’s team that later became the national champions.

Taking one of my photos from my time as a photographer for The Daily Gamecock, I photoshopped Keyshawn Bryant with his put-back dunk in Carolina’s game against Duke. This was spec work that allowed me to create a mockup of a SLAM cover. I wanted to cut out his arm over the logo to emphasize Keyshawn as the main subject.
